I mis-read one, and take umbridge at another question. As always there are different rules for each state or conditon. The question on the do not pass sign is wrong in NY. The questions as to crosswalks for pedestians is also wrong for NY. In the last 8 months some villages have painted crosswalks mid block, which require a stop if someone is in it, but if empty n stop is required, and it is not statewide. Pleasantville and Mt. Kisco have them, Valhalla, and Chappaqua do not.

Yeah, but if you read the fine print, in Chappaqua, you only 'must' stop for Democrats on the crosswalk...not Republicans.

When crossing a street at a junction with another, you have traffic to watch for from several directions. Crosswalks in the middle of the block are a good idea, but no one is going to spend time and energy walking to where it is safer.
