Omaha -- International Meet: Who is going?

Well, I just registered online for the International Meet. I have free lodging with relatives in town, so I'll save a little money. How many of you folks will be there? I signed up for the tour to the air museum and speedway motors on Wednesday. Would like to ride down with somebody I know. Anybody else doing that tour? Looking forward to it. Omaha is a really nice city. They've done a lot of good things to revitalize the town. Joe Roberts

Joe,

I will be there and will also be staying with relatives but may also be getting a couple nights at the hotel just incase. . . Besides the speedway motors I think there is going to be an unofficial Drag Racing too! Since, I'm a chapter member I just hope that they don't want to use my services too much. . .plus planning a small cookout and tour of my Brothers place for those looking to get away from things and have some good beer and good food and talk Studebaker away form the meet.

As much as I planned to go, I've made other plans for the first week in September and probably am not going to make it.

I've been to Omaha twice and like the city, if you like good steaks you won't be disappointed, the best steak I have ever had was at a VFW/American Legion (I think) in Omaha but I doubt if I could ever find it back.

As it stands now, I am planning on going to Omaha. I will kill two birds with one stone and also take in the Pacific Can-Am Zone Meet on the way to Omaha which is being held the weekend before. But I can hardly wait 'til next year when its in South Bend once again.

Craig.

The air museum and Speedway museums are must do items. The air musuem is between Omaha and Lincoln along I-80. The air museum has an SR-71 Blackbird. B-36, B-29, B-17, Jets and rockets of all types. Not as big as Wright-Patterson but very nice. The Speedway museum has probably the largest collection of racing engines anywhere including Studebaker and many one offs. Huge pedal car collection, Many cars including a Tucker and a Studebaker. Lunch box collection and more. You will love both. Denny L
