I actually have seen one or two flat heads run this way, but I believe this one is just a clever April Fools joke. I'm surprised he didn't install the engine upside down thereby creating a dry sump oil system!
I did a search on the guy (cleverlever) and some of his other postings on the net, and I think the guy's on the level. He's a big E85 believer, and held a patent on variable valve timing for awhile. He also seems to have done lots of work for Honda, especially on VTEC motors.
Well, the hot rod in the pic is a small block Chevy running a reverse rotation camshaft without running the engine in reverse rotation. Actually no big deal. Note the front drive distributor. Now, a flathead is a different deal, You can cut new ports through the top of the block and run an extra exhaust port up there for better breathing. Looks wacky, but works good. Jeff

correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't doing that make the "intake" ports way too small and the "exhaust" ports way too big?
