OT- email questions

Knowing that there is a lot of computer savvy on this NG, I'd like to try a couple questions. First, I see emails that are sent to "Undisclosed Recipients". I send some group messages and I'd like to use that feature, but I can't find ANYTHING in Outlook Express Help addressing the subject. Second, I like to archive email folders I have used for class purposes. I have copied email folders to floppies or CDs in the past, but I can't make it work in OE 6. Anyone have a procedure for doing this? Thanks, Paul Johnson

Paul,

I am not sure on the archiving (as I have never done that) but, if you want undisclosed recipientes, click on the "To..." area and use the "BCC" tab to put your addressees on the list.

Do a search for *.dbx, and that will show you where all your folders are. Find the one with the name you want. In some cases you might find two folders with the same name stored in different areas. The larger one is usually the current one. You can copy that file to a CD or other storage device.

Or just see if you can do a File | Export | Messages like in Outlook Express.

Thanks Lee. Too simple (duh). My default OE settings didn't show BCC, but clicking "All Headers" brought it up. Paul Johnson

On occasion, I have to contact a bunch of members of the Widows/widowers club and use the BCC, with Marilyn as the lone name showing, in the "to" box. It works fine, but if anyone replies to me by using "reply to all" instead of "reply" they may get the edresses of the BBCs on their address list!

(That happened to me when I replied to what I considered a silly message and wanted to show the others how stupid the sender was. All these strange names showed up on my list. I still haven't culled them!)
