OT: Gas - Rant/Whine/Bitch

Damn, anyone know of a company that produces locking gas caps... I've got some investment money I want to triple over the next couple months.

Gas jumped 11 cents overnight at every gas station on the way into work... cheapest was $2.53 and I donated $60 to that station this morning. I figured I'd better top off before it hits $3.00/gal. next week. I saw one station selling regular unleaded for $2.69. Gas was $2.44 at Walmart yesterday ($2.55 today) and I should have stopped and taken a picture because it looked like the gas lines of the 1970's leading up to the pumps... there must have been 40 cars waiting on the

8 gas pumps.

I predict alot of dusty Studebakers sitting in garages this summer... maybe I should buy some California Car Covers stock.

Count your blessings. It's been $2.79 in Louisville for two weeks now and no end in sight. Just wait until the "summer driving season" begins:(

Get into a hobby that you can afford /// Just drive the crap out of it and stop bitching. Every friggin' two weeks we have to put up with another gas price thread. Screw it! Put gas in it and drive it. Or put the thing in your living room. (Nothing personal at you Lee, I already know you are screwed up .) Jeff

It was when I started... gas was about a buck-fifty a gallon. Now to go work on my new project it's going to cost me $75 just to drive round trip.

You been taking a sneak peek at my garage remodel? Almost done with the painting.

Just be glad I'm not living on the other coast.

$2.39 yesterday at the nearest place - cheapest in town, usually.

He takes $100 bills. (Laughed when I asked.)

Do you know what irritates me ALMOST as bad as gas prices going up??

The damn $ limit on credit card purchases! The pumps shut off at $50 at most places around here...although a few have now raised their limit to $75. Those of us with large gas tanks (over 20 gal) can't even get a full fill-up without having to insert the card and start all over again after it shuts off the first time!

And forget trying to get them to change their limit...it's all "corporate", even if it's "Ahmed's Local Stop-N-Rob, Inc" . And the guy behind the counter can't even just take your credit card and let it fill to the limit...HIS limit is the same as if you stick the card into the pump reader!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

It may be to your advantage to fill up nearer to half a tank. By doing so you will not reach your limit nor will you need to worry about running our of fuel if you get caught up in a serious traffic jam. ;)

Plus the fact that most newer cars have the fuel pump inside the tank and use the fuel to cool the pump. I'm bad about it but I usually wait until I'm below a 1/4 tank before filling up... that way I usually only have to fill up every other week.

Sign of the times, I think it may be called inflation.

In the Land of Honey and Sin, even the McDonalds will take a $100.00 bill, but when I leave Vegas and enter 'the real world', I used to get odd looks (or just chased out of the place) when trying to use a $100.00 bill.

In my last trip to the Land of Nuts and Flakes (which is rapidly encroaching the land of Honey and Sin) I was amazed by the lack of resistance to accepting $100.00s, as apparently, they are getting more common in the 'real world'.

Vegas is in no way representative of the rest of the world, of course I'm not sure that So. Cali.(LA/Orange) is either.

I filled up in Houston TX yesterday and paid $3.01 for the medium-grade fuel (between Regular Unleaded and Premium Unleaded). Thank goodness I was filling up my Harley and it only took 3.8 gallons to top the tank off. Drove

526 miles back home and stopped 3 times to refuel and all three subsequent stops for fuel were cheaper than the price in Houston. The H-D averaged 48.6 mpg on my 1316 mile round trip and my fuel bill was a hundred bucks and change.

You can say that again!

I enjoyed the visit with you and Trish on Sunday. Don't you just love people who show up on a Sunday morning (unannounced) and toot their "wimpy" horn under your bedroom window?

thats the beauty of it.. if we DO.. then they shut down..(and my bet will be with some other countries as well.). and then you will WISH for $3 a gallon.. we are gonna tick off the wrong bunch there.. and suddenly the american $ will be pretty worthless.. we do NOT have anything much they want.. and the euro IS backed in gold.. which scares the us money folks to no end..

Hey, Bob... got any trees left on your place?

And, are your cattle "Loying?"

Dang, Dave...I didn't have many trees to start with...and he parked right under my best one! Luckily, he was on the scooter, not in his big tree-killing truck! That Harley is right purty but I don't think he'll be killing anything bigger than a shrub on it! I think he could holler louder than that horn...he might need to stick a Stude horn on it to make it On Topic and to get people to pay attention.

The cattle aren't anywhere near us anymore, so I guess they were all "Loying" in someone else's yard as he passed by.

BTW, if Loy had been there 5 minutes earlier, he would have thought we were having a church meeting in the house...Trish was hollering "Oh, Gawd!" over and over at the top of her lungs!

Bob (if I want her to know I wrote that, I'll tell her!)
