OT - GPS

Any body have suggestions on a hand held GPS that fits in your shirt pocket? Don't care about MP3 capabilities. Doesn't have to be the cheapest one either.

Before I bought my current one I had a Garmin E-Map runs on AA batteries, no color screen, no frills but will get you from Point A to Point B without any problem. I used it several times by putting in waypoints and following the turn commands. I need to buy another one because the one now (Garmin StreetPilot 2610) isn't portable unless I carry a 12 volt battery with me.

They don't make the E-Map anymore, but you can find nice/new ones on E-Bay all the time for cheap.

I have a Garmin IQ3600. I've had it probably 2 years or longer, and really like it. Don't know if that model is still available. It has several other functions (date book, etc.) and I use it more than I thought I would.

That model is still available on eBay. According to Garmin it is discontinued. I don't know if that means anything. Do you have to have the auto navigation option for it to give a turn-by-turn voice report? I think you have to have a subscription to a service?

Thanks,

No subcription service, it just works. Don't know about the "auto navigation option," it worked out of the box.
