Kept up with oil changes, 3000/4000 miles, and runs good for a small engine, just slightly underpowered lols.....(can not tow a small canoe either).. spark plugs are easy to change in this engine, - YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE THEM.. Replaced both front fenders due to auto accidents (like them just unbolt find one and rebolt on..) The car is simple too maintain.. with the exception of the two timing belts.. (changed them every 60/65 thousand mark, One time I forget and was stranded on I-95 (no damage to the engine though). The original waterpump and radiator replaced at the 300,000 mile mark.. Pads/shoes easy to replace along with rotors. Have not changed the original 02 sensor on it, just cleaned it and put it back. Have gone through about 3 exhaust systems,,, 4 axles (pot holes in Mass) and I-95... One time I did get about
20,000 extra miles on one axle by putting on a split boot or quick boot for the joints. Rerouted the heating system one time through the ac unit, for heat in the winter, (the heating core died on me).... The next summer Had to replace it and that was quite a job, taking out the whole dasboard and just about everything else to replace the heating core lols, flushed out the ac and recharged it with 134a works good.. Gave the car to my daughter for a short period of time, she almost melted the whole dash board wiring (she hooked up the radio wrong).. had to rewire everything) GOT MY CAR BACK TO.. In the winter time specially in a good snow, the loy does have a tendency to go where it wants to go,, and not where I want it to go,,, like taking a left and the loy wants to go straight sometimes even at very slow speed.. MAKES LIFE INTERESTING in the snow..I would say my experience with my Subaru Loyale 2 w/d has been interesting, pleasurable, and probably saved a few bucks... lols
I do like the rus...
