Hours to replace hub & bearing?

Does anybody know the standard labor hours for replacing the front wheel hub and bearing on a 2001 Forester?

The On Demand software suggest "labor" times of 3.6 hours for the bearing and the hub if done separately, for a total of 7.2 hours.

Done together, the time should be 3.6 hours or less, because you need to remove the hub from the old bearing, to replace just the bearing. So putting a new hub, should probably be less that 3.6 hours given that you do not have to take the old bearing off the hub.

Warranty times are 2.7 hours each.

I have replaced a single front wheel bearings in less than 2 hours though.

Good luck

If a shop quotes you 7.2 to replace both hub and bearing they are PIRATES. (charging for the same labour twice) If everything goes well. it is a fairly easy 2 hour job to replace the assembly because you are not pressing the parts apart to salvage anything.
