I had a minor accident (my fault) where the front bumper of my Impreza Outback got partially ripped from the car (I was going slowly in traffic and moved into a faster moving lane, cutting a guy off). I have replaced the lights w/o much trouble, but the bumper looks emrabassing. I am planning to drive the car into the ground, so, my embarassment is not worth $1,5K or whatever a body shop will charge to intall a new bumper. How realistic do you think is instaling a used bumper in a do-it-yourself manner? I see many Impreza Outbacks in my area, so, perhaps, junk yards have them? When I was instlaling the light assembly I noticed that the bumper is attached to the body just by several lame plastic clips - looked simple.
