Just Got A Recall Notice

It appears that my 2008 Outback is subject to the "rusty brake line" recall. My state isn't part of the recall so I guess that it is because New York, which is, was where my "program" (A.K.A. off-rental) car was originally sold and registered. I don't anticipate that anything will need to be done but it is still an inconvenience. Guess I'd better get on the phone to the dealer and figure out when they can accommodate me -- they aren't always the quickest folks in the service department even when they are dealing with a five-minute job and I'll need to hang around while they do whatever it is they are doing.

Yeah. Really.

I am seriously thinking of writing to Subaru and saying, "Really?!?! Just

3-4 model years???? What about my 1996 Legacy Outback that the rear brake lines were COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH on?!?!?!"

This isn't a cosmetic issue, this is a REAL issue! The lines were Swiss cheese when I pulled them out. STUPID DESIGN! They coated the lines with a rubber coating to the point where THEY WENT OVER THE TANK, and then resumed the rubber coating at the point THEY EMERGED FROM OVER THE TANK!!!!

WTF genius came up with THIS idea?!?!?!

I replaced them with CUNIFER lines, and bypassed going over the tank.
