Legacy 2.2 non turbo mpg

Could anyone tell me how many miles to the gallon a 1991 2.2 Legacy estate should be doing?

Sure. Can you give us a complete log of your normal driving? Load on engine, throttle opening, gear, weight in car, and aggressiveness of braking?

If not, then no, we can't. It's not an exact science, and you will generally be doing more MPG than you expect in Subarus because of AWD.

Bit of a tradeoff - the safety of AWD versus a slightly better MPG in an equivalent 2WD car.

My 92 LIBERTY wagon 5sp would get between 35MPG down to about 28MPG, depending on how hard the car was driven, if the air conditioning was on. I would normally expect 35 MPG on a highway drive sitting on about 70Mph. I would also use cruise control a hell of a lot but bump it off on approaching an incline, choosing to 'drive' the hills. I would also get better fuel economy using Shell Optimax or BP Ultimate (hi octane unleaded.)

Hope this helps. Cheers RUMBLOKE
