They're Going To Put Refugees On Cruise Ships

I wonder how many will complain that lifeboat is blocking the view or if they get an inside or outside cabin. They will probably riot over who gets a suite!! I'd sure hate to go on that boat after its turned into a floating kennel. I'm sorry but after seeing a woman on tv complaining that her MRE that was donated by OUR tax money was "too cold" I have lost all sympathy for the majority of the flood "victims". They are so used to having everything given to them they expect someone else to care for them.

They who? THEY???? One stupid woman does not represent an entire group of suddenly homeless people. Geez, Rush, lighten up!

Unfortunately, think there are more than less of them. I blew a gasket when an interviewee complained an overwhelmed nurse wouldn't "hep" someone who was vomiting. Why couldn't SHE help the nurse instead of bitching about what someone else didn't do? I quit watching last Wednesday.

PS: Liked the analogy of the kennel. I likened them to domestic pets dropped off in the country. Don't have a clue how to fend for themselves.

Scotty; Cover me with the asbestos ion ray. Prepare for flames!!! AYE Captain!!!

I find the racism in these OT postings appalling. Sure you have an angry, immoral criminal element. But it is the result of your policies over the last 200 years. And the incredible insensitivity in the handling of this disaster will bounce back in more racial turmoil. I'm thankful I do not live in the US. I'm especially thankful I am not a black (or Arab, or Asian) living in the US. ds

Hmmm... it's so bad here that folks of all races can't wait to emigrate into the U.S.

There'a lot of racism here, and in Japan, and in Canada and in France and in Australia and in....................

Speaking for Canada, the racism here is nowhere near as bad, though the anti-US sentiment is pretty widespread.

I hope the cruise ship operators are smart enough to offload all the liquor.

I was watching MSNBC and apparently some polling of evacuees in Houson shows that 80% of them have no plans to return to New Orleans.

Stop kissing up to your butt boy, bigjim@f********er.. There's nothing uglier than two white men in sheet in heat.

Your brain is however jammed in PARK..

Tell your momma to get you a new keyboard - your caps lock is stuck again. Also ask her to clean out the guest room because we're sending some refugees to live with you in New Hampshire.

The entire topic is mute now, it has been set in place and our opinions mean nothing.

The ships in question do not belong to you or me and their use is up to Carnival. They made the decision and they will deal with any problems.

Should any news come to light after they are deployed and populated I am sure this board will bat it back and forth.

Sorry for the cross posting, but there are many threads that deal with the same subject.

Fair enough. But I daresay that the Houston refugees, recently ex Superdome refugees, are mostly the people with the fewest social and economic ties to New Orleans. They are, after all, the ones who mostly couldn't get a ride out of town before the hurricane.

That's not to say that lots of people won't return to New Orleans, just that that poll, however scientific, is likely to represent the worst case for the most desperate former residents of a city that was pretty poor and desperate to start with.

The only "color" I see is green. To an American it's the only color we see outside our borders. Mebbe if we'd put on rose colored glasses we'd see brown instead of green, then the outsiders could blend in with us more easily. BWAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
