Valet Mode and 2006 OB XT

All,

I am 100% confused with valet mode in my new 2006 Outback XT.

I ended up bringing in the car to my subaru service department questioning why I saw the word security flashing in the dash... For some reason the first 10 days of owning my car I never noticed this....

They immediately agreed and thought this was a strange problem...

However after further investigation and walking around with the sales person... I found out it was normal... (ironic that both service and sales people had no clue about this issue...)

However now... my care does the following:

1) The car engine is off and I pull the key out... (the word security flashes in the dash) 2) I click lock in the car or use the arming button on the remote to lock and the word security flashes one time every 3 seconds

ALL OTHER Outbacks I saw with my sales person actually flash 2 times every 3 seconds not once like my car.... AM I IN VALET MODE????

What does valet mode really mean and how can I change this back to normal???

I heard that valet mode may not allow my RPM's to hit higher than 3500 and the turbo is deactivated... Is this true???

UGH.... Any suggestions on how to solve this proble mis appreciated... My fear is that my dealership is sorta dumb with this issue and won't know how to fix this problem... they wasted over an hour of my time trying to get the word security in the dash to stop flashing since they thought this was a problem... DUH they deal with these cars all the time and didn't even know this was normal????

Thanks for nay help...
