1977 Jeep CJ - Horn Button Removal?

I'm trying to get to the turn signal switch on this old Jeep. I think the method of removing the horn button is to press it in kinda hard and rotate it ccw to release the catches.

This one doesn't want to release. Can anyone tell me if I'm doing it right before I increase the torque and break something?

Thanks!

Steering Wheel Jeep CJ/Scrambler 1971-1986 Repair Guide

1976-86 Models 3. Remove the horn button from the steering wheel. Turn the button until the locktabs on the button align with the notches in the contact cup and pull upward to remove it. With the sport wheel, just pull the button up.

Autozone.com to the rescue! Whoda thunk? I have the 'Sport Wheel', so I guess I just haven't been pulling hard enough. I was worried about breaking the plastic tabs that I guess aren't even there on this one.

Thanks!

I have a Laredo with the chrome package and my horn button just pulls off. The steering wheel is chrome with leather on the ring.
