626 floods while sitting

Howdy, I have a 1988 Mazda 626 with a 1989 Ford Probe engine in it ..(same engine). If it sits overnight, it won't start .. it smells of raw gas when I try to start it. I unplug the AFC box and let it sit a couple days .. it starts ... blubbering rich. After it cleans out the raw fuel and dies, I plug the AFC box back in and it starts ok. It runs ok when it's running.. although the fuel mileage of down by about 5 mpg. If I shut it off for short time during the day, it starts right back up..but not overnight. I have tried pulling the wires off the AFC box and letting it run out of fuel to stop. That didn't make any difference. Somehow raw fuel is flooding the engine while it sits. If it was just a leaky injector it would only affect one cylinder.. They are all flooding. It happened all at once ... too flooded to start... must sit a couple days to start. Is there a diaphragm in the Fuel Pressure Regulator that would cause this if it ruptured? Help please... I am driving my old 360 powered Dodge MaxiVan @ 12 mpg. I really miss my little 33 mpg buggy. If you have any helpful info, you can e-mail me at: stacey at davesworld dot net Thanks very much in advance!!

As a temporary fix you could try removing the fuel cap for a moment, to let the pressure out of the fuel tank before you park it overnight.
