A/C compressor runs when it should not

1995 Dodge Caravan. A/C compressor runs when it should not -- not all the time, but if it gets switched on it often will not cut off. I'm thinking of replacing the compressor clutch relay (as a very simple thing to try) before investigating further. Is there any other well-known common cause of this problem?

Also, in case I need to get into the A/C control panel, what, other than Chrysler's special tool, is suitable for prying off the bezel around it?

Answering my own question, it was the relay. After replacing it, I opened up the old one and found a glob of some kind of conductive trash between the contacts... which I removed, then put it back together and put it in the glove compartment for future use as a spare.

I'm still interested in that because I need to replace a light bulb in there. Any ideas?
