Belt replacement on 1998 Buick LeSabre

This serpentine belt cannot be replaced simply by releasing the tensioner and slipping the belt out.

The belt is wound through the three fingered motor support.

Would someone post the recommended method of replacement?

The engine mount you mention is held to the block in three locations. Loosen the nuts on the two upper locations (you may have to temporarily loosen the ps pump bolts to access the one nut...or just leave it) Go down to the lower location. Remove the nut, and then remove the stud. At this point, the weight of the engine should make the mount move out from the engine slightly. Remove the spacer that the stud went through. Remove the belt.

When you re-install the spacer and stud....you may need to jack up the engine to remove the weight from the mount so that the stud can be re-threaded back into the block easier.

Hope that helps.
