“Check Engine” light will come on

Hello,

I own a 1981 Chevrolet Caprice Classic V6 3.8L 229cid GAS CARB N Engine VIN = K. I am from the Netherlands here a car that is 25 years old or older does not need all the emission requirements. This is one of the reasons why I removed the Three-Way catalytic converter. The other reason is that my car is running on LPG (Something like Propane). Now that I removed the catalytic converter and put a stainless steel exhaust pipe under my car I want to get rid of the emission control system. If I remove the emission control system my ?Check Engine? light will come on. This is because the Oxygen Sensor in my exhaust is not getting the correct input. There is no need for me to run the engine on gas anymore so there is no correct signal for my ECM necessary. How can I get the check engine light to go out without breaking it?

Remove the bulb? From what you describe, the "check engine" light won't correctly tell you ANYTHING anymore, so you might as well pull the bulb out.

A small piece of electrical tape will cover it.
