Chevy Pickup Power Window Sticks Closed

My Driver's side window sticks in the up position. I've unstuck it 4 times, each time looking for what is putting it in a bind but cannot find anything. It runs up and down fine until I drive it. Not sure if it is closing the door or hitting bumps but something puts it in a bind. To unstick, I just have to pull it apart and it frees up. It is in a bind though because it is hard to pull the panel out but once out, it runs fine again. The glass is free when pushed up and down in the track.

I've heard you can fix this by bending or crimping something. I tried crimping the slot above the motor (tightening up on the "rack" part that the motor drives) but that fix didn't last a day.

If there is something I can do to fix this or do I need to replace the motor and regulator assembly?
