Cracks in Tire Sidewall

I have a pair of Michelin XW4s, made in late 1995, on the rear of my minivan. They have plenty of tread on them, but they have very slight sidewall cracking randomly all over on the surface, "checkered" if you will. Let's say about a hair's thickness or less. Should I be concerned about this condition?

If it were mine I would let a Michelin service center look at the tires. I think it's weather and age related. But safety is important. ronm

Isn't that like asking a barber whether you need a haircut?

1995? Gee it's time for new ones just fore safety. That's 8 years old.

What I was trying to post. Was if someone is worried about their tires..and give thoughts of a blow out at 70 or 80 and causing a head on crash or a rollover. Anyway it's not me who is facing this problem :-) ronm

Sounds to me like you haven't been rotating your tires. I'd consider moving them to the front and wearing them out.

It is if you're the one who will be crashing head on into him. Yeah.. "It's not my problem." Real good.. And maybe it's not you.. maybe it's your best friend or your sister or your dad.. Sure it's not you facing the problem...

The having your tires checked was not in question, it was to whom you suggest to have check them.
