I have a 1998 Acura Integra RS. In the past few months, I have noticed a decline in gas mileage from an average of 30+ mpg to a current average of 24-25 mpg. I have also noticed that the temperature needle never really passes beyond the lower 1/3 of the dial range. I have been told that this could be due to a damaged temperature sensor or oxygen sensor which results in needlessly rich fuel mixture, and hence, wasted gas. I would, however, note that my gas mileage declined fairly abruptly after replacing a very old set of spark plugs with Bosch Platinum-2's. Given the coincidence and the cost of replacing the sensors, I am tempted to replace the spark plugs, but I am not sure why they would cause a decline in mileage. Any thoughts on this situation would be appreciated.
Thanks, Andrew
