GM Ignition Switch / Key Question

Hello,

Re the GM ignition switch fiasco:

Have had the key modified at Dealership.

Talk about a "Mickey Mouse" solution to a serious defect.

Question: If one complains, and insists, will they install a new ignition cylinder lock at no cost, or is this key modification all that one can expect ?

Thoughts on ?

It's my understanding they install a new switch with a stronger detent spring. Perhaps you misunderstood what they were doing which might have been modifying your key while they wait for backordered parts.

You can test your ignition switch. Turn the key to the run position. Turn it to the off position and note the feel. If it feels too easy to turn the key, you should get it replaced. If it feels normal, don't worry about a new switch.
