Back in June I posted questions about car lifts. Two post style.
Thought I'd post an update.
I ordered from American-Equipment. The lift was made by Team Lift in Cleburne TX. 9000# capacity, $2003 delivered to Denver (On Sale).
Let me start at the end by saying that I really like the lift. Smooth operation - relatively easy to install, came with truck adaptors and touch up paint (That Hoist Blue we all see is actually Container Blue!) They made a mistake building it that we're still sorting out but they responded to the problem quickly.
Ok - the downside is---took a very long time to get. Now I exacerbated that by requesting that they cut the lift's height by some 3 inches to fit my garage (add $200). That happened about 3 weeks into the order process ( I was going to raise the ceiling but that proved to be difficult) If I had stuck with a stock height lift, though, it still would have taken 4 weeks to get. The custom cut added two weeks.
My suggestion is - ask first how long the delivery cycle is. Most of that wait time was ok with me but in the 5th week I got a bit antsy.
Having said that, everybody involved on their end always took my calls and tried to help. There was no evasion- just took a long time.
Time will tell how it holds up, but it seems well built. I have to say
- lifting a car in your own garage for the first time is better than most sex!
