Help requested: spec assistance on 1994 Escort

My neighbor asked that I help him with some preventative maintenance work on his 1994 Ford Escort with 1.9 liters engine. I'm specifically interested in cooling system capacity (he doesn't have the owner's manual and I don't have ready access to Mitchell's ON DEMAND or equivalent), any special bleeding procedures (I can't find any bleed valves -- that doesn't mean they're not present, just that I didn't look long enough) and whether sealers are to be added (e.g., like to late

1980s Cadillac DFI products). If sealers are required, can I use GM #3634621 tablets (given that the ingredients are ginger, almond shell, turmeric, and sal soda, I'll guess "yes").

Any assistance is appreciated. If directly replying, kindly remove "nospam" and change the digits to "o."

Cordially,

Bohdan Bodnar

No bleeders exist. Turn the heater control to max heat and turn the inside blower fan on high. Fill radiator with 50/50 coolant/water until full. If you have the angled radiator neck this can take a while. Run the engine and add as much as you can to keep the level up. Monitor the heat output inside the car.

If 5 minutes have passed and cold air is still blowing out of the vents, stop the engine. Find the highest heater hose and remove it to aid filling the system further. This can be messy but Escorts are often difficult to bleed.

When you get hot air from the blower, you have removed most of the air in the cooling system. Let the car cool down and top it off cold. Top off the overflow bottle.

I don't suggest adding sealer to the system. Don't be concerned with system capacity. Follow the directions above and make sure its full.
