help with torque settings

hi

I'm going to be draining my transaxle on my windstar. The torque value for reinstalling the pan is 9 to 11 ft/lbs. I've got a 1/2 inch up to

150 ft/lbs torque wrench but I know that these wrenches are less accurate in their low end. I've looked at a 3/8 torque wrench but still feel the same. Can someone let me in on a source for either a 1/4 inch maybe inch/lbs wrench or any other suggestions? I've looked around and haven't had much luck. I've heard some say "well that low a torque just put it on by hand" but I really feel that if the manufacturer has listed a torque setting/range I should be do bolts up to that range.

TIA

The torque on the pan bolts is not critical, all you have to do is get it tight enough so it doesn't leak but not tight enough to distort the pan. Get a small

You can probably get a 1/4" torque wrench at Sears. Get the ratcheting breakaway type (not the beam (pointer) type) because you don't have to look at the thing to know when it's torqued right.
