Minerals in battery water - damage?

How much harm does the use of non-distilled water in a car battery cause, in terms of shorter lifespan?

Supermarkets used to sell only drinking water and distilled/reverse osmosis filtered water in gallon jugs, but now they also sell a third type -- purified water that has not had any minerals removed, and I almost bought some.

It has always been in the stores, look in the baby products aisle. It also is used in steam irons.

If you need water and nothing else is available regular water will get you down the road.

Distilled water is everywhere.. Walmart, Target, grocery stores, drug stores carry it. I've always seen it right next to the regular bottled water.

It was Kroger brand with the yellow label -- filtered only with carbon. Kroger red label was steam distilled.
