Need help removing rear rotor on 79 vette

I'm upgrading the brakes and need to remove the rear rotors. The shop manual says there are rivets attaching the rotor to the hub that need to be drilled out. Those rotors are not original and I don't see any rivets. The rotor will not pull off by hand. Does anyone know a technique or special tool to pull those rotors off? help, Bob

Should be 5 flat headed rivits, one between each lug stud, that need to be drilled out to get them off. If they have been previously removed, then there should be 5 holes in the same locations. If the rivits are already gone you should be able to remove them like any other hubless rotor. If their stuck & your gonna replace them with new ones, whack 'em with a hammer (within reason) till they come off. Good luck.

Some of the early Corvettes, as well as some early Chrysler products, with rear disks also had internal shoes (inside the rotor hub) which served as parking brakes.

I just read this the other night, have never seen or worked on one of these.

Was wondering whether this might be what you have, and whether releasing the clearance on the parking brake shoes might loosen it up.
