Pluging Exhaust Manifold after Removing Air Pump/Injectors????

How do you plug the holes in the exhaust manifold after removing the air pump and air injector manifold on a 1988 chevy 454 CI with factory headers. Need to know the size (diameter) and threads (tpi) to make plugs? Or if anyone knows anyway to do it. Taking chevy P30 with 454 from CA to NC do not need the air pump in NC. Thanks

Normally you just match up the piece you took out. They would be pipe threads I believe.

On old Fords we used to use a spark plug to plug that hole. Maybe the same on a Chevy?

Take the air injection manifold to a hydraulic hose & fitting store. They can match the threads and sell you plugs for the holes. They're probably NOT tapered pipe threads, but straight threads as used with compression ferrules.

Thanks to all for your suggestions. I resolved the problem by having a tubing shop make up 8 plugs for the exhaust manifold. He had the fittings and tubing in stock. The tubing is 5/8 with an inverted flare, the fitting is actually a 7/8 with 18 threads per inch. He used approximately 3" of tubing then crimped and brazed the tubing. The same could be done if you cut the air injector manifold off and leave enough tubing to crimp and braze or weld.
