Re: Help my '91 mitsubishi is stalling every 15 seconds??

I am by no means a mechanic, so bear with me if I misrepresent something. I removed the air intake hose from the MAP sensor and sprayed half of a can of air intake cleaner past the butterfly while the engine was running. This caused the engine to race rather high (3500 - 4000 rpms). After that the idle leveled off and it stayed running. I tried starting it for the next few days and it starts just fine and stays running. However, the idle bounces from 1100 to 1500 RPMs and doesn't level off. The only time it levels off is when I have the car in gear. What should I be looking for to correct or diagnose this problem? Please let me know if you all need more details and I'll try to provide them. thanks for your patience.
