Rusted out battery tray

The battery tray in my 1983 Dodge van is beyond saving.I suppose I could bolt a piece of good steel plate over the rusty tray, but nothing much there I could bolt to, how would I fix the front of that? Thanks for any tips on that. They ought to make those trays out of stainless steel. cuhulin

I had a rusted out tray on my Reatta, and bought a new one from Autozone. I removed the old one, repaired all the rust under it and painted the repaired panel. Then I just installed the "universal" one in its place.

Looks like an original (or better).. Cost very little to do.

Your FLAPS will have a battery tray and clamp assembly made out of heavy plastic. It's actually pretty rugged, and it won't rust out. Bolt it into place with stainless steel bolts.
