Maybe Frank Stronach will buy it. Might go well with Opel, which he's already bought. Aren't new Saturns already Opels under the skin?

If you had the money, would YOU buy it? I don't think I would. In spite of it being severely undervalued right now.

what about Malcolm Bricklin? Seems to be that historically, you could get him to get behind anything so long as it was automotive and a bad idea.

I don't think Bricklin has the credibility with the marks that he used to have. Except possibly for government employees, who aren't too smart anyway.

How about Tesla? Make electric hybrid VUEs?

***** I have always like the idea of building attractive specialty automobiles like the Bricklins and DeLoreans, but it would seem that the possibilty of failure far outweighs that of success. Same goes for electric cars.

I dont see that Saturn offers anything really unique that would make a group want to own it.

I'd say the Sky Redline is a possibility, esp. if the Solstice is also dead as I expect it is. Those were on my short list of "GM cars that I would actually consider paying money for, if I had it and didn't have anything more pressing on which to spend money." Well, OK, those pretty much WERE the short list, unless you count the discontinued GTO, but the GTO isn't realistically affordable.

Of course, the Sky/Solstice I believe is also a warmed over Opel, so I don't know what legalities would be involved now that Opel is being sold to another party...

maybe someone could pick up just that one model, a la Bertone X1/9? or Opel could import them directly?

(actually saw an old Opel coupe on the road yesterday... didn't know there were any left in the US)
