1990 celica won't start :(

I have a 1990 celica gts that just wont seem to start.... I had my alternator go just now and I have replaced it but ever since I have no been able to get my car to start. It simply turns freely, not even a sputter. It ran fine with no problems a week ago. does anyone have any ideas ? Thanks in advance

When you say it turns freely, you mean it cranks but does not start up? Pull a plug and check for spark, if you are getting spark you are not getting fuel. You should hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key, if not your pump might be shot. Check all your ignition fuses, you may have blew something when your alt took a crap.

Doesn't sound good, sounds to me like you installed a remote start system and immediately your starter and your alternator crapped out plus the engine won't start...hummm...

Remote start systems do tend to screw over a car from time to time. Maybe you could tell us what else is installed aftermarket on this car.

When you said that the engine spins freely, do you mean that it turns over at the normal rate or does it turn more quickly than normal?

Have you listened for the fuel pump yet? Checked for spark? After you do that report back! :D
