1995 Pickup with coolant leak

I have a 1995 V6 extracab SR5 Toyota Pickup (not tacoma) that has a coolant leak. The leak is coming from the bottom of the engine. I thought it was the lower engine block to radiator return hose, but when I inspected it, there was no sign of leaking on the hose or connection assembly. However, I can still see fluid on parts located directly underneath this assembly. Does anyone know what the problem might be? What is located beneath the engine block that might be allowing this leak and what will it take to get it fixed? I am a do-it- yourself type of guy, and would like to fix it myself if I can figure out what it is. When I showed it to a mechanic, he didn't believe me that it was even leaking - he thought it was power steering fluid, which is leaking too, but that is a whole other post in itself.

If anyone could help me, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

Dan

If the coolant is leaking from the area near the timing cover and crankshaft pulley, the leak may be coming from the water pump. The water pump has a weep hole - check it for drips.

Another possibility is from the casting plugs, commonly referred to as freeze plugs, on the side of the block.
