2005 Toyota Sienna, curtian airbag deploy on side impact while unoccupied?

Im trying to find out if there is a defect or this person is lying to me. We have someone claiming hit and run in a parking lot. Damage to the driver side shows a pretty good hit. The side curtian airbag is deployed.

Could the airbag deploy while the ignition is off and the vehicle is unoccupied? I dont have any schematics to see the design of what conditions are required for the curtian airbags to deploy.

Thanks,

I believe that the SRS retains power for 90 seconds after the ignition is turned off.

Glass breakage on any owned vehicle is covered under ones own comprehensive coverage. You are not liable for ANY damage to her car by a falling object, unless it fell from your vehicle. There is no "deductible" on your liability coverage.

It is a common misconception but your insurance company will only pay damages to other property for which YOU are LIABLE. The OWNER of the vehicle is ALWAYS liable for damage caused by THEIR vehicle no mater whom is driving, even if the driver stole the vehicle. Even if you were at fault for the damage to another car you are driving , your insurance will cover YOUR liability while driveling another vehicle, NOT owned by you, ONLY if their is a, separate but equal, judgment issued against the owner of that vehicle that exceeds the owners liability coverage on that vehicle.
