Dealership makes the difference!

On sloppy Winter days, I've been known to tape a "Do not wash this car!" note on my dashboard so that the morons don't wash a car that's bound to get a fresh coat of salt within minutes anyway.

Why would you not want salt washed off you car?

Because the car wash blasts water into your door locks, handles and window tracks. Contrary to what some here believe, freezing temps can make it impossible to get into your car easily.

?? If it's been washed at the dealership post-servicing, the mechanic who washed it is then going to get into it, drive it out onto the parking lot, & then get back out of it - he's opened & shut the driver's door twice since the washing. You will then get into it a few minutes later. Not liable to be frozen shut.

I guess you're right. I've been hallucinating for the past 35 winters, with

5-6 different cars.

Or: You're not thinking about the next morning, when it's 17 degrees and the sun hasn't warmed the doors yet.

Huh - hasn't happened to me yet; mine opened at 8:00 this motrning, no prob. Temp was 21, car was in the shade.

What kind of car wash? My experience is with dealerships who use those Laser Wash things. It's impossible for the water to NOT be forced into crevices. Based on 2 Fords, a Chevy, 3 Toyotas and a Honda.

Search me; I'm not in the back while they're washing it - I'm in the waiting room.

silly boy. All you have to do is as Cathy said is to cycle your windows and doors after the car wash. That will cause the offending water droplets to go away. It's an old trick from the cold country.
