faulty corolla brake rotors

I have a 2005 corolla that has only done 18000km. The brake rotors are faulty. The dealer says that this is because they were manufactured in South Africa. They are still under warranty so they will be replaced but I have to pay for the damaged brake pads. Does this ring true?

That makes sense. The brake pads are a wear and tear item.

Ask to speak to the service manager. And if that doesn't work, ask to speak to the district rep.

While they are wear and tear items, if the pads were damaged by a bad rotor, they should be replace free.

Yes.

If the pads are evenly worn, then they are just worn and not defective or damaged. Driving conditions have a lot to do with pad wear.
