LOL I posted this on another forum, and another Joisyite said that was the only good reason to live there.

Gas is a deal in Jersey, but offset by their car insurance structure. :-(
and poor road layout.
Agreed, although layout might imply planning. When I moved my daughter to Jersey City from Boston a few years ago, I had reservations at a hotel, couldn't figure out how to get to it. Asked an on duty town cop who couldn't tell me how to get there either. Watch commander led us both to it, and it was maybe half an mile away. Daylight might have helped, and the cop knew the hotel but fuzzy on how to drive to it.
that and the white persian.
I don't understand this comment. Please explain.
I happened to watch the CBS morning news this morning. They interviewed a bunch of people at gas stations whining about high gas prices. More than half were in SUVs. I think they need to quit whining and look in the mirror for the main cause of high gas priced. The segment also included an interview the current Florida Governor. He was demanding that Congress do something about high gas prices. I wanted to puke. If these guys want to be socialist, then they should just say so and demand that the oil companies be nationalized. While they are at it, they should take over Disney, and lower the admission prices, quit taxing hotel rooms, and let me have free meals when I am in Florida. Hypocrites!

I'm afraid to ask if you asked the cop whether he could find his ass with both hands ...? Half a mile away is just a long driveway where I live.
Then there's the matter of the speedy governor, another good reason to avoid NJ roads..
obscure drug pun.

I have absolutely no sympathy for anyone who drives a large vehicle. I do feel sorry for people who drive average maybe-not-so-fuel-efficient cars, and have to struggle to go to work and back.

Natalie, please modify that sentiment to 'People driving large vehicles who really don't need to'. They knew those vehicles got low fuel mileage, they knew they couldn't come up with any practical reasons for driving something that big, and yet they /chose/ to buy and drive them anyway because "They look Hip and Cool" - and now those fuel mileage chickens are coming home to roost.
Some people need big vehicles for hauling around a large family or for work purposes - I could use bigger than the 3/4T Work Van I have now, but then again I hate getting there and finding out I don't have that one stupid little (yet critical) piece I need to finish. Making a $75.00 trip to pick up a 25c part really frosts my...

OK - fair enough. You may modify it. :-)
Holy crap! That can keep my pregnant roller-skate happy for a month; even at today's prices!

$65 of that is the hour I lost running for parts. If they gave an accurate description of the problem I have no excuse not having the "Usual Suspects" parts on the truck, and I can't charge for that.
