Highlander - Check engine and VSC warning lights turned on simultaneously

I have a 2002 Highlander V6 which while driving to work, had the "Check Engine" and "VSC" (Vehicle Stability Control) warning lights display on the dashboard simultaneously. They have remained on for the last few days.

Anything significant that BOTH of these would light? Or is it coincidence and expected from a VSC problem for both to be lit together?

I found a small rubber air hose disconnected from the air filter assembly. Re-installed the hose, pulled out the EFI fuse near the battery for an hour, re-installed the fuse, and now all warning lights are clear.

The NEXT time the Check light comes on, try going to an AutoZone store, or the local auto parts store you like to use, and ask them if you can use the OBD II Scan Tool. Many parts houses these days have Tool Loaner Programs where you can check out a tool in much the same manner as checking a book out from the library. Among the tools they have to loan is the Scan Tool for OBD II compliant cars and trucks, which includes all cars and trucks offered for sale in the USA since the 1996 model year. The scan tool plugs into a data port located along the bottom of the dash board in the area near your left knee while you are driving. The OBD II data port kinda reminds me of a printer port on the back of pre-USB printers, except that the data port on your car only has something like 16 pins, wheras the printer port gets 40 pins.
