Horrible Toyota Reliability!

Damn....my '92 Corolla Wagon has a faulty muffler at just about

200,000 miles.

I had that damned thing replaced at 65,000.....

Oh well the replacement and labor are free....

btw I had to 'educate' the new Service Writer. He did not know mufflers were a lifetime warranty after they have been replaced.

Damn...only 135,000 miles!

Piece of crap...I'd send it to the scrap heap!

this reminds me of the story (probably made up) about a person that called the Rolls-Royce dealer about a broken fan belt at some fairly high mileage and age, the dealer told him he was mistaken, Roll's didn't break fan belts but they'd send a man over tomorrow - they did, replaced it - never a word about it.

Scott, please excuse some toyota worshippers here, even the japs. They sometimes think as long as toyota out performs a Ford then it's all A-ok.

Interesting that the muffler you paid for lasted twice as long as the original. Cheap original, better gas or change in driving habits?

Which reminds me of that other RR anecdote... Man writes in to a motoring magazine, some time in the mid-1900s. He enthuses about the wondrous quality of design and construction, how the car runs so smoothly and quietly you can actually hear the dashboard clock ticking as you cruise along...

So Rolls-Royce contact the man privately, asking when it would be convenient for them to replace the faulty clock.

I'd like to see a Ford with 200000 miles on it.

How about bad manufacturing?

I suspect the first owner didn't drive it very much. I do take care of my 'iron'....

I got pretty close with 2 Fords, a Fiesta that was still running strong @ 166,000 when I traded it in and a Festiva @ 157,000 which was also running fine when I traded it for my current Yaris. From what I understand many Festivas have been documented as running past 200K. Granted, neither one was a "real" Ford of course.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!

I'm NOT a 'Jap'!!!!

I suggest you Google Hachiroku...this is the SECOND time you've made a FOOL of yourself here!

at least...

and I'd rather drive a beat-up Toyota than a brand new Chevy! They last longer!

Eh, they're out there, especially the Diesels. I've seen a couple with

300,000!

Actually, I was working for a guy selling used Fords. If I couldn't get a Toyota or a Honda, I'd go for an Escort.

Oooops...they're basically Mazdas... Gee, come to think of it, so is the Explorer, esp the 4.0L with the

5-speed manual tranny.
