OT: Energy prices continue to fall

Yes I did. And I quoted it.

Did you catch the word 'genetics' in my post? Did you note the word "statin?" Statin is the unmbrella term for all cholesterol lowering drugs including Zocor.

BTW, my family on my fathers side has history of cardiovascularproblems. My father had his first heart attack at age 49. His motherdied at age 57 of stroke. Her sisters and brothers all died of similarproblems. I think we all have livers that produce too much cholesteroland the diet they used to maintain was rich with butter fat. Lots ofpastry and greasy food. -- ----------------- The book "Live Right 4 Your Type" explains it best for me why some die young and others eat all the meat they want. O blood types like myself can eat a lot of meat and not have (heart) cholesterol issues.

While I'd guess the people you describe above (dying young) were A or AB blood types?? A and AB types have less acid in their digestive system to break down meat and should eat very little of it.

While O's will start to digest themselves (not literally- but it feels that way sometimes) if they don't get regular meat. According to Dr. D'adamo, NO ONE should eat pork. And butter IS better than margarine. But ironically margarine was invented as a supposed 'IMPROVEMENT' to butter???

Olive oil is the best way to go. But when baking Canola oil is better tasting and still not bad for you..

YMMV

But then again there are exceptions to every rule. My grandfather was type B and he lived to 72. We don't know what type his father was, lived to 73. His grandfather lived to 85 and all three most certainly ate a lot of animal fat and butter fat all their lives. Their wives or children churned butter, they also made their own sausages, hams, bacon, etc. My mom was Type O and she also lived on the farm until she was 19. . . . They all ate lots of PORK. And chicken and eggs and less beef. And Mom varied her diet after marriage and only lived until 69. . . .

Well, one thing we're all in agreement is there is a lot of pork in Washington.

Actually type B's can eat hearty amounts of meat and are 'designed' to be able to handle a lot of dairy. I didn't say B's should avoid meat. But A and AB types should according to the good doctor.

And when you do an informal survey, you may find youself the people who espouse a meatless life style are usually from the A and AB groups. While others who say they can't live without a good steak are largely from the O type. But it always amazes me how many 'older' people don't know their blood type.

Other than curiosity, what reason is there to learn what your blood type is until you need blood? We oldsters really have more pressing concerns ... like a good BM. ;^)

Los Angeles is dropping a bit from the slight "Hurricane Panic" spike we saw - this morning it was $2.95.9 at a local 76 station, where I put in enough just for the day - no cheap gas from Woodland Hills to Malibu to Beverly Hills. On the way home it was $2.85.9 at Van Nuys Costco where I filled up for the rest of the week.

But 'normal' before the hurricane was hovering in the $2.65 - $2.70 range, meaning some regions have it much better than others.

An RCH? Gee, I didn't know you were a precision machinist...

How about when 'someone else ' needs blood? Unless of course it 'has' to be about YOU. And also to learn to eat right per Dr. D'Adamo.

Many Asian countries base hiring and dating decisions on blood type at least partially. An O is built more for phisical labor , at least in the younger years. An A or AB is better suited for office or management type work as they don't get stronger the more they do phisical labor. Blah blah blah ...etc etc. etc...
