Question on selling car for parts

Hello I have an '89 Toyota Corolla that's been sitting in the driveway. It had started having electrical problems where the battery would not charge while the lights were running, I let it sit while using another car starting it sometimes. Eventually the "catalynic converter" became clogged, and now it can't start, possibly also because it is sitting on a hill.

Anyway I want to sell it as a parts car, and I'm wondering since nearly every part is in good condition, and it has a cd player, $200 is not unreasonable is it? It also has the title.

What do junk cars (that are not half destroyed from a collision) usually go for? Thanks for the help.

At a wrecker, $50 - $200 depending on desirable resellable parts. Some places will charge you take it away. Your problem is finding anyone who wants an 89 Tercel.

I'm not sure but scrap steel (minus tires and fuel tank) was $120 a ton, so just to junk it you'll get $180.

What model/where is it?

Well, i'm talking about as parts, that can be used for other, '89-;90 4 door corollas. And a cd player. The price including what it takes to tow it away.

Take the CD out and sell it for $35-50. Try to advertise in a local paper you have a car for parts and are looking to part it out or sell it whole. Charge $50 for just about anything. Then sell the remaining hulk for about $100; you'll get about $500.

Does it have a working AC compressor? I'll give you $50!

Taking the audio system out and selling it separately might make sense, but the rest of your suggestion is telling him to go into the junkyard (AKA "recycling") business. Most people would rather simply sell it to a junkyard for $25-$50 and let them haul it away and do the dirty work.

Now if it were a classic sports car from the 1950s, that would be another thing!

$25-$50 ? For all the parts it has? Just 1 bumper will sell for $60. It hasn't been destroyed in a wreck.

That's what I'm talking about! It's going to probably cost to haul it away (although with the price of scrap now a lot of people are taking them for free again just to get them) so sell what you can for what you can, THEN get rid of it. Or, perhaps, someone like me will come along; I needed parts for my 'hachi', so I bought an SR-5 and stripped it for the parts I needed, and then had it hauled away.
