Actually ALL of his vetoes were because of exccess spending
How much excess spending did the Stem Cell bills he vetoed involve?
He vetoed the US Troop Rediness, Veterns' Care, Katrina Recovery and Iraq Appropriations Act because it included a time table for removing troops from Iraq.
HR 1585, The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008 was pocket vetoed for reasons having nothing to do with fiscal irresponsibility.
He vetoed The Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008 because it banned waterboarding.
So half the bills Bush vetoed were not vetoed for fiscal reasons.
Jeff
Picking and choosing again something in a post with which disagree and missing the point of the post.
You are correct about defense spending but you neglected to mention what I was referencing, those that involved more money for non defense spending, which you suggest he suported, that I said has been the "primary reason for his many recent vetoes"
Before President Bush no FEDERAL money was spent of stem cell research. He we the first to spend any FEDERAL money on stem cell research, including FETAL stem cell research. The only restriction was to FETAL stem cell research to existing fetal stem cells. .
He never vetoed anything that would benefit Cheney's Halliburton.
You said all of Bush's vetoes were for excessive spending, so Jeff simply had to show one exception to prove you wrong, and he did.
