There is a reason they call California the land of fruits and nuts ;)
People in California are unique. They build houses next to fire areas,
> pass laws making it illegal to clear brush from around your property,
> and then cry and whine when their houses burn down every year, and then
> repeat the process.
In Japan they perfected this decades ago.
They built their houses of paper so they were very cheap to make and easy to remake after fires and such.
It is very interesting to read about how they treated everything heard from the next room as private even if the separation was only paper.
There is hardly anything unique in this world.
