Shell Station in San Fran selling for +$4.00/gallon!

This guy ownes a Shell station in San Fran. He was told by Shell that they would be taking over his station at the end of the month. So, not giving a Flying Fu@k, he raised his prices to $4.33 for regular to $4.53 for "V-Power"

Now, I imagine one of two things is going on here: either Shell is required to purchase back his fuel at a percentage of the selling (retail) cost, and he wants to make sure there is *PLENTY* left for them to buy,

OR

He would do what I would do: the fuel is already paid for, so anything he gets back goes in his pocket. What I would do is, at the last weekend of the month, sell it all off for $0.65, $0.75 and $0.85 a gallon.

Just to piss them off...

Hi Hach, been a while. FWIW, I live about 220 miles North of SF - Chevron,

76 and Shell are all about 3.539. Diesel about 3 even. Cutrates are about 15 cents less. But wait, "tourist season" starts about Memorial day and I expect it to jump probably about .50/gallon. At the marinas on Shasta Lake I heard it is over 4.50. Takes about 100 gal/day when water skiing with big inboards. So a bit pricey to recreate. How be things in the great bastion of freedom (Teddy and John boy Heinz-Kerry)

All in all. OK. We're at $3.00 for reg unld.

I don't get why, in a state where there are refineries and transport costs are lower, that you pay more than I, where we have to have it trucked in after being offloaded from tankers...

Regular gas at the Chevron convenience store in Lee Vining, CA is $3.99, and the big tourist season in Yosemite National Park hasn't started. CA120, Tioga Pass road into the park, from US395 just opened a few days ago. FWIW, it's $3.89 at both the Shell on 395, and the Mobil on 120.

Well, I got gas for 3.08 this morning, but up here it's 3.55. The oil industry is planing to rape us, aren't they? Too bad we're powerless to do anything about it.

Check this out for a come upper...

Subject: The Price of Gas

All these examples do NOT imply that gasoline is cheap;

it just illustrates how outrageous some prices are....

You will be really shocked by the last one!!!!

(At least, I was...)

Compared with Gasoline......

Think a gallon of gas is expensive?

This makes one think, and also puts things in perspective.

Diet Snapple 16 oz $1.29 ... $10.32 per gallon

Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz $1.19 ..........$9.52 per gallon

Gatorade 20 oz $1.59 .... $10.17 per gallon

Ocean Spray 16 oz $1.25 ......... $1 0.00 per gallon

Brake Fluid 12 oz $3.15 ......... $33.60 per gallon

Vick's Nyquil 6 oz $8.35 ... $178.13 per gallon

Pepto Bismol 4 oz $3.85 .. $123.20 per gallon

Whiteout 7 oz $1.39 ....... . $25.42 per gallon

Scope 1.5 oz $0.99 .....$84.48 per gallon

And this is the REAL KICKER...

Evian water 9 oz $1.49..........$21.19 per gallon!

$21.19 for WATER and the buyers don't even know the source.

(Evian spelled backwards is Naive .)

Ever wonder why printers are so cheap?

So they have you hooked for the ink.

Someone calculated the cost of the ink at...............

you won't believe it..................

but it is true.........................

$5,200 a gal. (five thousand two hundred dollars)

So, the next time you're at the pump,

be glad your car doesn't run on

water, Scope, or Whiteout, Pepto Bismol, Nyquil

or God forbid, Printer Ink!!!!!

Just a little humor to help ease the pain of your next trip

to the pump...

And - If you don't pass this along to at least one person,

your muffler will fall off!

Yeah. If you look at the pricing on store shelves, it will usually give you the price per...(whatever, usually a gallon). Yeah, compared to some things, gas IS still a bargain!

Didja ever check out the price per gallon of Starbucks??? A Grande cafe mocha will set you back about #30.00/gallon. Gas sounds like a bargain.

I don't buy coffee at Starbucks and I don't buy bottled water, either.

Too expensive, and

I had the same idea just about the time he started franchising (hadn't heard of them out on the East Coast in 1989...)
