So called brand new Toyata Vios

Toyota is a reputable name and for that I decided to get one Toyota Vios (1.5G). It turned out to be a nightmare when I could not get it started when I was about to come back from school. It causes my a lot of stress because the VIOS is LESS THAN ONE MONTH old. 25 days to be exact. Imagine the embarassement when the news abt a brand new VIOS is creating a problem in front of nearly 800 students and over 100 teachers and school staff. The car had to be towed to the service center and that caused me more stress as I could not take my kid from school. However, I would like to congratulate the service center in Seremban for their prompt action. They rescued me and kept me informed abt the car! Toyota must do something to rectify this. One unsatisfied customer and

1000 more who knew about the incident would tarnish the image that Toyota had established for so many years!UMW Toyota, pls do something!Well you could send me a letter of apology for a start!

What embarassment?

If this embarasses you, I can't imagine how you make it through life.

What is with all the drama? It was an event?? Sounds like the students and staff have way too much free time on their hands!

Gee, maybe you should contact Toyota about this? It doesn't do much good to talk to people on Usenet, they don't run Toyota.

In fact, I suggest you call your travel agent and book a flight right away. You want to go to:

1 Toyota-Cho, Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture 471-8571, Japan

They'll get you fixed right up.

Ya'll have a nice day now, hear!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It's a 'nightmare' because the car wouldn't start? I guess this individual never heard the expression "shit happens", or "that's the breaks of the game". It sounds as if nothing bad had ever happened to this person before in his/her life, and if that's true, he/she should consider himself the luckiest person in the universe.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Actually it shouldn't be a very long flight, since the VIOS is sold in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philipines only, per websites.

Hello,

Perhaps if some of the earlier repliers had taken a moment to consider the societal norms of Malaysia, their comments might have been more welcoming.

My Prius is my second Toyota. These two are the best transportation I've ever owned. I can understand why you might expect perfection. In reality any manufactured item can exhibit anomalous behavior. In my opinion the marvel is that anything as complex as a modern, computer-regulated vehicle functions at all.

Your dealer earned your praise. That should give you hope that your Vios is the product of a corporation that cares about its customers. I believe that your future experience with the car will heal your hurt. Perhaps someday we'll see here a note from you to the effect that all is well and that you're now happy with your choice.

I wish you well.

From what I can find, the OP is in Malaysia. Would be interesting to get the results of what the service center found. Was it truly a mechanical problem or some thing which resulted from operator error (lights left on draining the battery or automatic trans left in gear while trying to start).

My remark was addressed to the OP, but your request would be on-topic for soc.culture.malaysia

I know.

And without expanding on it your comment is pointless.

What societal norms would prompt a person to act like a troll on Usenet?

It sounded a lot like the tactics that sludge lady was always using. (I won't mention her name because it might invoke her.)

I also believe that Usenet norms supercede any norms from a poster's country. :-)
