I was merely clarifying differential types.

Calm down Huw - we see your point, its purely because its a commonly mistaken term (that i for one have only just found out was mistaken) that it takes time for someone to change over. I'll get there in the end :) However your condescending tone isnt helpful.

So easy to claim, so difficult to actually defeat me in a debate.

Just a typical fact-free personal attack from a right-winger.

Wrong, retard.

Well, even if Huw is technically correct, it's still a commonly-accepted description. On my Supra's window sticker, it says "Torsen limited slip diff", so I feel safe in calling it that myself.

Okay, and who says "the manufacturers" get sole rights to "properly" name the differential? They have their own agenda (i.e. product differentiation). If the world at large, the people who actually use the things, consider it an LSD, then it's an LSD.

Huw isn't being condescending on purpose ... its just his Euro/UK accent coming through. ;^)

It is truely remarkable how often people hurl political labels at those around them, while being largely unaware of their own biases. There are those intimidated by social/political correctness who give lip service to leftist ideas but conduct their lives a bit conservative once they have acquired some wealth (ie a house, land, a small business, etc). Not surpriseingly, these people learn -they- are the ones whose wealth is confiscated to fund socialism.

Hi, I used Castrol HYPOY LS in my supras. It only comes in 5litre containers but it didn't seem any more expensive than the regular stuff. I used an old hypoy90 squeegee bottle to fill the diffs.

Dont know the supra, but on the celica its a right pain to fill the diff. The method I use is to get a normal squeegee bottle, puncture a second hole in it. Extend the normal tube and add a metre of tube tightly to the hole right down to the bottom. Now fill bottle. Now pressurise bottle through normal exit hole and watch the oil flow up to the diff :)

Dont go over 15psi, had one explode when i got impatient - its a slightly shocking experience (even though I half expected it) that took a lot of cleaning up.

Funny though, I'd always have said i leant much further right than left, and fairly central on the authoritarian side of things. Bizarre. I try to keep out of politics as much as possible, I have some seriously socialist friends (who run socialist workers unions at universities) and I'd have considered myself FAR from their views. Ho hum.
