Re: Thank God! ATT has given up trying to acquire T-Mobile.
And no one has a worse reputation than you, Greg.
Since DB is shutting down, this will be my last post from this ISP. But
I'll be back, rest assured, to rub it in that you STILL have not figured
out who I am despite having had over a year to figure it out, while
someone much smarter than you figured it out within the first month.
Hint: The one who figured it out is one of the people listed below that
you incorrectly guessed was me.

Re: Thank God! ATT has given up trying to acquire T-Mobile.
Dood! Is there no end to your lack of basic Internet understanding?
newsmaster, hostmaster, webmaster, postmaster, etc. These are all role
names defined in RFC 2142. If you want to contact the "NSP Admin" of a
service, you email newsmaster@<domain_name>. If you want the guy who
manages their website, it's webmaster@<domain_name>.
So you think any high school dropout can run an NSP. Well here's a
little challenge for you. Run one. No prizes or cash handouts for
succeeding, just the satisfaction. Heck, you can hire a high bandwidth
server in an DC for considerably less money than you handed out to
Emmett. With your claimed intelligence, I think you could have a
service up and running by March, even starting with no knowledge of
Unix, or how to operate a service. What have you got to lose?
Re: Thank God! ATT has given up trying to acquire T-Mobile.
I've got to lose valuable time dealing with a bunch of ignorant twit
subscribers who couldn't successfully run a blender to make their
alcoholic drinks. Why would I subject myself to being a net nanny
willingly? If I were an avid free-speech advocate I would perhaps
consider running such an NSP but Chris Caputo already has the bases
covered on that and nobody does it better. I couldn't do it better
myself.
Back to the original point, though . . .
None of the first paragraph belies the fact that *newsmaster* is a
self-assigned term by blowhards, for blowhards and of blowhards. A most
excellent example of patting oneself on the back and aggrandizing one's
accomplishments.
It's tantamount to a 'participant's trophy' handed out by somebody's
mother to a last-place finisher.

Re: Thank God! ATT has given up trying to acquire T-Mobile.
Damned straight but only if they have stupid and contradictory TOS/AUPs
which most of them do. Especially Eternal September whose AUP/TOS was
apparently written by a two-year-old megalomaniac with a Hitler
attitude. Then, there's the big commercial outfits who hire the
functionally illiterate Usenetwise who don't know their ass from a hole
in the ground and won't listen to logic or reason. Who needs that crap.
If I want to deal with fools and idiots I can always more productively
post to AUK. LOL!
I'm PROUD of the fact that several NSPs have booted me. I'm proud of it
because NONE of them had a valid reason. None of them were even capable
of understanding and applying fairly their own AUP/TOS. To date, Chris
Caputo is the only human being who runs an NSP who has the intelligence
and the language skills to pen a logical, coherent and fair to free
speech rights TOS/AUP. With Altopia one can read the rules and abide by
them and NOT have to worry about some MORON abuse desk dweeb willy-nilly
applying his misunderstanding of the rules.
And, believe me, I have LOTS of support from people via e-mail
respecting this issue. Chris Caputo needs to conduct a Usenet Admins
associate degree program and enrollment by every existing NSP admin
should be mandatory so they could perhaps learn how to be fair, logical
and trustworthy.
I have spoken!

First, check out what Sir Gregory Hall, Esq. said:
How many free servers have TOSsed you for forgery, Gweggie?

None! For forgeries I use anonymous remailers. They couldn't care less
about them.
Motzarella TOSed me because the BananaBoi doesn't understand invalid
TLD's. He's got his own, very limited understanding of what an invalid
TLD is and he uses that ignorance to boot those he feels threatened by
or who he wishes to deny free speech while others using the same type of
invalid TLD who kiss his ass, he lets slide. It's an excellent example
of which I speak. Bullies on purpose use vague and contradictory AUP/TOS
so they can claim a rule was violated in order to boot those they
disagree with politically, socially, or philosophically.

Re: Thank God! ATT has given up trying to acquire T-Mobile.
I'm surprised to hear that. Ray is, in my experience, a highly
intelligent person.
There are plenty of lists of valid TLDs, here's Wikipedia's:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Internet_top-level_domains
Add to this, .invalid which is a special instance.
What part of this did Ray not understand? Or could it perhaps be that
you are the one misunderstanding?
Re: Thank God! ATT has given up trying to acquire T-Mobile.
The imbecile even had to change the wording of his TOS after I pointed
how inadequate his understanding of invalid TLD was as indicated by the
language he was using. But, he's so dumb even his changed language
failed to adequately support his limited understanding of the term
'invalid TLD'... The Rube thinks his TOS definition of TLD is the last
word on the subject. When challenged all he manages to resort to is<:
"It's my NSP, my rules, fuck off!" How droll!
Here's a clue. Banana thinks any possible future accepted TLD is not an
invalid TLD. WRONG. Unless and until a TLD is validated by it's being
sold or put on the list of domains being for sale it REMAINS an invalid
TLD. For example, Wesley Mouch was using the invalid TLD of dot orgy. At
the time that domain was not registerable. Probably still isn't yet the
idiot claimed it was not a valid invalid TLD and booted poor ole Wesley
for it. No matter how hard you try to support your fellow NSP
"newsmasters" (yuck yuck) you cannot manage to rationalize Banana's
irrationality and unfair subscriber abuse.

Re: Thank God! ATT has given up trying to acquire T-Mobile.
You have so many negatives in there it takes quite a bit of figuring
out. If I understand correctly, you're stating that an unregistered
domain is acceptable in a From header.
In your example, where your sock used a TLD of .orgy, it's obviously not
a valid email address. I don't think this should be a AUP issue so much
as a standards violation. Rather than you being booted for that
violation, your messages should simply have been refused by the
newsserver.
I note there's a perl function (Email::Valid) to validate an email
address syntax, check if the TLD is valid and even lookup if it has
defined MX's. I'll look at implementing this in the next release of
Cleanfeed providing the processing overhead isn't excessive.
 My standards trump yours.
are foolish to require an email address in the "From:" line because:
â–¶ if it's real, it'll be killed by spam.
â–¶ if it's fake, it is itself spam.
So foolish, it's obviously better to post via XSusenet.COM ( cost·free ),
BlockNews ( virtualy cost·free ), Usenet-News ( virtualy cost·free ),
"Tioat.NET:119" ( cost·free ) and the like. I don't have to pay Alt.NET.
Likely, an NNTP server that fails like that also fails in other ways.
Eternal·September users can't even see my posts... how lame is that ? !
Make no mistake, my standards trump yours.
Censorship is my job, not yours.
But, when it comes to reading ·recent· articles,
Glorb.COM ( unfiltered version ) is best... by far.
For years·old articles, I use XSusenet.COM, BlockNews or Usenet-News.
I use only message·IDs, not article numbers,
and I select the best server for the immediate job.
Sadly, I'm the only one who can do it.
Re: My standards trump yours.
Are you implying that ES is not configured correctly and your posts
are being censored? Or are you just another usenet career victim?
No one (except you) posts to usenet these days in html format.
Please try a post with your settings in text mode so we can
ascertain who the real failure is here.

Career Victim (from urbandictionary dot com)
1) Noun; a person who keeps making very stupid decisions while at
the same time lacking the prudence to learn from his or her
mistakes, therefore doomed to make the same mistakes again and
again.
Figuratively speaking, someone who fell down the "stupid tree" and
hit every brach on the way down.
2) Noun; synonymous for con artist. A person who continues to engage
in irresponsible/stupid behaviour and uses the consequences of such
behaviour to make him-/herself "the victim" in order to gain pity or
sympathy.
Steve Crook and Ray Banana are foolish and lame.
I said Steve Crook and Ray Banana are foolish and lame; they drop
"Content-Type: text/HTML" messages from other servers, for example.
Most forums allow ·simple·markup·, like <PRE> tags, for example.
I did ·not· mean to imply that Steve and Ray have harmed me,
they haven't. They're ·not· filtering out "From: Jeff-Relf.Me" posts.
Speaking of harm... OctaNews stole $12 from me and, back then, it hurt !
[ I wonder if Robb is/was Mike Horwath ]
I gladly trash hundreds of dollars these days, maybe too gladly.
Re: Baby Relf is insolent and lacks elegance
Of course you didn't. We are talking about the technical side of
usenet here. Are foolish and lame technical terms? Those words sound
rude to me. Are you intentionally trying to be disrespectful?
When you say that "most forums" allow HTML markup; are you referring
to usenet or google groups? What exactly are you implying here?
Forums allow ·simple·markup·, e.g. WikiPedia·Talk and Google Groups.
I see no reason why those who do that here, on Usenet,
should have their balls cut off, so to speak.
When posting code, the < PRE > tag is awfully handy, for example.
Most people use variable width glyphs, auto·wrapped;
newlines and indenting are trashed ── not good for me, not for code.
Ray and Steve are too lame, too foolish, to understand any of this;
instead, they drop "Content-Type: text/HTML" messages from outsiders.
I could go on, but I won't bore you.
