toyota corolla/ geo prizm 4afe torque converter

i am currently having a hell of a time with this 1995 geo prizm. i am replacing the old transmission with a new one but i cant get the old torque converter off. i assuming there is some kind of access cover that i am overlooking but i cant seem to find it. its a 3 speed auto with no overdrive, with a 4a-fe motor. great little car, shitty tranny.help...please

There should be an flywheel access cover at the front of the bell housing, under the back of the engine. You should be able to access the bolts that hold the flywheel to the torque converter from the cover.

They are mostly found on the lower side of the bell housing, sometimes in front, and occasionally in back. Look closely for two fasteners (sometimes screws) usually holding the cover plate on. The accumulation of road grime, dirt, oils, ect. can make them blend in and difficult to locate. There must be an access of some sort to remove the bolts that hold the TC to the flywheel or it can not come apart.
