'02 4cyl. engine noise when accelerating

i've noticed a noise when accelerating hard from either a stand still or from a slow roll and/or low mph(15-35mph). it soulds like bad gas but i gas up all my cars at the same place and they have no issues. the car only has appx. 24k miles on it and the car had new injectors installed under warrantee inthe spring, runs great other than the little noise that i described. any thoughts or ideas. the cars' wartantee expires in Sept. so maybe i should bring it back to the dealer??

thanks...

Generally, noises which come from an engine under heavy load are not a good thing if they are mechanical in nature ie pistons or bearings,..but there are other more likely potential causes from the ancillary stuff around the engine, In mine, the sheet-metal heat-shield around the exhaust pipe as it runs under the motor, makes a buzzing sound as harmonics from the exhaust cause it to vibrate.

So unless you have a deep, loud thunking sound or heavy tapping sound, its most likely not cause for concern. There is a chance the engine is 'pinging'. This sound is like a bag of bottle-caps being shaken. If it is this sound, the engine's tuning or a sensor is out,..and it should be sussed out by a competant mechanic.
