'03 Brake vibration TSB?

Have a new 5-speed Camry LE, when we picked it up, it seemed that there was a "sometimes there, sometimes not" "klunk" noise that was apparent when we stepped on the brake.

It sounded as if it were coming from the pedal mechanism itself. Took it to the dealer and, of course, they could not duplicate. Now, with

500 miles on the car, the "klunk" has pretty much disappeared, but has been replaced by a sometimes there, sometimes not, "buzz or vibration, or small shake."

When it does happen it happens only right at the "top" of the pedal as you begin to depress the brake -- once you move the pedal farther down, it disappears. The brakes otherwise seem to work fine (NO anti-lock brakes on this model).

I asked my independent mechanic about it and he just shrugged. I noticed NTSB has a TSB that mentions front brake vibration on the 2002 and 2003 Camry, but alldata does not yet have the 2003 TSBs on line so I can't read the whole report.

As I noted, this SEEMS to be in the pedal, not a warped rotor...

Anyone know if the TSB addresses my problem above or if it is unrelated?

The TSB you are talking about is TSB Number BR006-02 for Front Brake = Vibration in Models: '02 - '03 Camry (V6 XLE & V6 SE), Issued on = December 24, 2002. I had it done and it corrected a warped rotor = problem, the new brake rotors are much larger in diameter then the = original brake rotors. Toyota changed the disc brake rotors size = sometime in December 2002, specifying larger rotor for the 2002 and 2003 = Camry XLE and SE with V6 engine to correct front brake rotor wrapping = because of over heating caused by undersized brake rotor.

Hi: Thanks for the quick reply. Obviously the TSB doesn't relate to my problem. Oh, well, guess I'll just ignore it unless it gets worse. t.
